Overview
A complete point-of-sale system for cafes and restaurants, covering products, categories, tables, and staff with role-based access. The standout piece is the Kitchen Display System (KDS), which pushes order updates to the kitchen in real time as they're placed.
The Problem
Restaurants need front-of-house order taking to stay in sync with the kitchen without paper tickets, plus reliable reporting on sales and inventory for daily operations.
The Solution
I built an invoicing and ordering workflow connected to a Kitchen Display System so kitchen staff see new and updated orders the moment they're placed, eliminating the lag and errors of paper-based communication. Reporting modules cover sales, inventory, daily summaries, and performance metrics for managers.
Architecture
.NET Framework application with a role-based access layer for staff, structured around products, categories, tables, and order entities, with real-time update propagation to the KDS.
Challenges & how I solved them
